Teething tips and Tricks, what to pack when traveling with a teething baby

Hi lovely friends,

I hope you all had a great weekend! I felt like my weekend was over before I even realized with all the unpacking and organizing I had to do. We moved to our new apartment about a week ago and finally almost everything is unpacked and in order. And now the apartment seems so much bigger without all the boxes everywhere. It didn’t help that Aria has been super clingy these past few days and she wants to be held all the time. I don’t know what it is, maybe teething discomfort, maybe she is not used to the new apartment yet. I am not sure, but as all the other babies, she goes through these different phases and so I have learned to accept that fact and put all the other things on hold to give her a little more attention and love as she grows out of them. And in the meantime I learn so much about motherhood and all the joys that come with it. She’s growing up so fast and I can’t believe she is going to be 8 months this week.

As moms we all want nothing but the best for our children and we want to help them as they go through these difficult phases. Teething has been a difficult phase for us. Aria has been teething for a few months now and she doesn’t have any teeth yet. So I had to do a lot of research in order to learn how to help her ease the teething pain. One day was especially hard on both of us and I posted a picture of Aria on Instagram asking for tips and tricks on how to ease the teething pain and I got so many responses and advice from many of my dear friends and family. I want to send a big thank you to all of you for helping this new mama. Thank you so much for all the advice. I’m going to refer to some of those tips in this post.

A month ago we traveled to San Diego for a short vacation and we had such a good time. It was Aria’s first flight and to my surprise she did amazing. So today I wanted to share with you the most important things you need to pack when traveling with your teething baby. So here are my top three things to have in your bag besides all the other necessities such as diapers, wipes, hand sanitizer etc.

1.      Teething toys/Teether – There are so many different kinds of teethers out there and I’ve probably bought all the kinds hahahah. From my research and also the direct advice I got on my Instagram account from a friend who is a dentist, I’ve found that cold compresses help to soothe teething pain, in the same way that ice works on a sprained ankle to numb pain and reduce swelling. I’ve noticed that Aria likes her cold liquid-filled teether as it helps her sore gums. She also likes her little lamb teether as well as the little rubber duck you see in these pictures.

2.      Thermometer – I always keep a thermometer in my diaper bag when I know I’ll be traveling with my baby, either on road trips or flights. Cutting the first tooth is pretty painful and even can cause mild fever. So it’s always good to have a thermometer handy.

3.      Infants' Advil – I first bought my Infants Advil when Aria got her 6 months vaccine shots so I could have it just in case she developed a fever.  Infants' Advil® is available for infants ages 6 to 23 months old in a non- staining, Dye-Free White Grape liquid and it offers parents a simple, effective solution to relieve their babies' pain with up to 8- hours of relief in just one dose. So whenever I am traveling now, I pack one with me in case Aria gets a lot of teething pain. I know there are Walgreens everywhere and some of them are open 24 hours, but I always prefer to be prepared and get the things I’ll need ahead of time. Also if you are interested to get yours, there is an instant redeemable coupon for $1.50 off  Infants' Advil.

I would love to learn more about your tips and tricks on how you help your little one ease their teething pain. Feel free to share them with me in the comments below.

Thank you for stopping by lovely friends!

Friday Why is it important to play with your child?

As parents we want the best for our children and we are willing to do whatever it takes to raise them in a happy and healthy environment. There's no doubt that parenthood is one of the greatest joys in life. There's nothing that compares to seeing your little one explore the world around and learn new things every day. Often parents find themselves asking, am I doing enough? At least I know I have asked that question to myself many times. But one of the things I have learned in my short 6 months of being a mother is that nothing makes my baby girl happier than when I play with her. It doesn't matter how many colorful toys I put in front of her, my funny faces always make her giggle more.
Although playing with my baby may seem like a hassle sometimes when the dishes and laundry are piling up and I just want to get things done around the house, I always feel so much better after I have played and laughed with my baby girl. And there is a scientific explanation to why is that. Continue reading and you will find out.

Hi lovelies,
Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend, as I sure loved mine. The most fun part about my weekend was seeing my daughter starting to crawl. She is not even 6 months and is crawling all over the place. As a mom I am excited to see her reach development milestones, but definitely I am not looking forward to chase her every where now.

Today I am so excited to start my series of Monday Style Diaries Link Ups. As a little girl and even now as a mom, every Sunday night I would lay in bed wishing the weekend wasn't over. One thing that gets me excited about Monday mornings is having a fun outfit prepared. Because I am a firm believer that pretty clothes can fix almost anything, even Monday blues. I am sure I am not the only one who does this so that's why I decided to call this Link up Monday Style Diaries. It will be each Monday morning and I would love for you to join the party. I will select two of my favorite looks to feature next week on my blog as well as on my social medias {Facebook, Instagram}.
So make sure to follow along!
Also if you are interested to co-host this link up with me, let me know via email at emadishnica@gmail.com.

White is probably my favorite summer color. I love it so much that I am refusing to stop wearing whites now that I have my little one ready to leave her marks on anything I wear. This white skinny jeans had been waiting to make their summer debut. I never was satisfied how they looked because so I decided to fix them and now I am in love with how they look.

Now is your time to share your looks with us! Join the party and tell everyone about it.

Polka dots

Hello lovelies,

I hope you are having a great Monday!!!

This will be just a quick post.

Polka dots never get old. I feel they are so feminine and delicate. I love how cute Aria looks on her polka dot dress. She is growing up so fast though and most of her cute summer outfits that I bought for her a few months ago are too small for her now. I need to go shopping for some summer dresses for her. Do you have any suggestions? What are you favorite baby apparel stores? Surprisingly, I enjoy shopping for her more now than I do for me. Baby clothes are so adorable.

Thanks for stopping by!

xoxo

Friday Denim Season

Happy Friday everyone,

This week went by really fast because of the long weekend and I am so happy it's Friday again.
I have made few plans for the weekend but I'm trying to have some back up plans as well cos every time I have something fun planned, the weather doesn't cooperate. So fingers crossed this weekend will be all sunshine.

This outfit has been my uniform for quite some time. Give me a denim jacket, comfy pants and flats and I'll conquer any day.You can imagine my excitement when I found this little denim jacket for Aria. She looks so cute in it and it's perfect for this season. I know she'll grow out of it soon though.

I think my outfit wouldn't be complete without my new favorite watch. Watches are my favorite accessory and I own quite a few, but I had never owned a wood watch. Yes, the one you see in these pictures is made out of wood. It is so light and fits so comfortably in my wrist. I love the design of my Ely watch because it's so simple but yet it has enough details to make it unique to me. It's interesting how just a simple watch can make you stand out. I have had few people ask me about it already. Jord watches have a beautiful collection of watches that would make you see watches not just as a timepiece. You should check out their website and even read about their story and the origin of their name. It's pretty interesting.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Tuesday Beauty Routine with ERA Ageless Skin Care

I have been asked a lot about my beauty routine and to be honest I don't have a specific one. I grew up watching my mom take care of her skin, putting day and night cream on every day and I remember thinking that when I grow up I am going to do the same. I have been blessed with a pretty normal skin, not too dry, not too oily, so taking care of it has been relatively easy. But since turning 25 a couple of years ago, I have felt the need to take care of my skin a little bit more so I can prevent black spots and wrinkles. So twice a week I try to exfoliate my face or use a peeling mask which helps remove dead skin and helps with the black spots and I also try to moisturize it daily. Eye serum or cream have been added to my daily routine and I love the results. My eyes are less puffy, and it has helped with the dark circles under my eyes.

I received a starter kit from ERA Ageless to try and I have loved the results. This kit is a great start to a better skin. It includes seven samples of their most popular products such as eye serum, beta carotene mask, peeling gel etc. They come in sample sizes so you can try them on and take them with you wherever you want.ERA Ageless offers high end and high quality skincare products that will make your skin feel young and refreshed. It least that's how mine felt using them. Check out their before and after pictures to see the results of some of their customers.

The pictures above are taken after I had been using the kit for e few days. I decided to do a {no make up, no edited pictures} post because I felt really comfortable with my skin. It feels healthy and beautiful. I believe my mom when she says that a healthy and beautiful skin is the most important feature of a woman's face. A healthy skin is truly a reflection of overall wellness.

What is your skin care routine? Do you have any tips?

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi dear friends,

I hope you had a great weekend! Mine was filled with apartment hunting, vacation planning and lots of baby cuddles in between. My husband and I are looking  for a new apartment closer to his work, so that he won't have to commute as much as he does now. So hopefully we'll find one that we like and we'll move in the next month or so. On the side, I am trying to plan our family vacations for this year. I won't say anything yet since nothing is finalized, but they'll be somewhere warm :)

I love this look, because it's comfy and I've been in love with pastel color lately.
Check out the links above for more details where you can buy them.

Thanks for stopping by!
